New EN Standards for Non-Domestic Seating

The Technical Committee CEN/TC 207 “Furniture” of the European Committee for Standardization(CEN) has recently published two European Standards,EN 15373:2007andEN 14703:2007for the safety requirements and test methods of non-domestic seating 歐洲標(biāo)準(zhǔn)CEN/TC 207 “家具”技術(shù)委員會最近發(fā)布了兩個(gè)關(guān)于非家用座椅安全要求和測試方法的歐洲標(biāo)準(zhǔn)：EN 15373:2007andEN 14703:2007 EN 15373:2007specifies requirements for the safety,strength and durability of all types of non-domestic seating for adults weighing up to 110kg.These requirments include:

d)??????????Ends of hollow components shall be closed closed or capped

EN 1728:2000
?ThisEN15373:2007supersedesBS 7945:1999, the standard for determination of stability of non-domestic seating which is withdrawn. However, it does not apply to ranked seating, office work chairs, office visitors chairs, chair for educational institutions, outdoor seating and to links for linked seating for which theEN 15373:2007standards or drafts exists. Tests carried out according to this
EN 14703:2007standard are for the purpose to demonstrate the ability of the links to function correctly in their intended environment. Fulfilling the requirements, however, does not ensure that the links will operate as expected in circumstances or emergencies that cannot be foreseen. Assessment of ageing and degradation are beyond the scope of this standard, while strength or durability requirements for individual chairs are to be covered under EN 15373:2007. The strength tests that covered in thisEN 14703:2007include:

EN 14703:2007規(guī)定了聯(lián)排非家用座椅的強(qiáng)度要求和測試方法.其測試目的是為了正確展示在特定環(huán)境中并排座椅的功能性.然而滿足該標(biāo)準(zhǔn)并不能確保在不可預(yù)見的環(huán)境或緊急情況下,該并排座椅能按預(yù)期正常使用,且對老化和降解的評估不在該標(biāo)準(zhǔn)范圍內(nèi),至于單個(gè)座椅的強(qiáng)度或耐用性要求可參見EN 15373:2007?
