無(wú)機(jī)保溫絕熱材料具有不燃燒、耐化學(xué)腐蝕、耐高溫、使用溫度寬等特點(diǎn)。例如：石棉、硅藻土、珍珠巖、玻璃纖維、泡沫玻璃混凝土、硅酸鈣等。 有機(jī)保溫絕熱材料具有極小的導(dǎo)熱系數(shù)、吸水率較低、不透水性佳、耐低溫、易燃等特點(diǎn)。例如：聚苯乙烯泡沫塑料、聚氯乙烯泡沫塑料、氨酯泡沫塑料、軟木等。 多孔狀絕熱材料又叫泡沫絕熱材料，具有質(zhì)量輕、絕熱性能好、彈性好、尺寸穩(wěn)定、耐穩(wěn)性差等特點(diǎn)。主要有泡沫塑料、泡沫玻璃、泡沫橡膠、硅酸鈣、輕質(zhì)耐火材料等。纖維狀絕熱材料主要有石棉、巖棉、玻璃棉、硅酸鋁陶瓷纖維、晶質(zhì)氧化鋁纖維等。粉末狀絕熱材料主要有硅藻土、膨脹珍珠巖及其制品?？偟膩?lái)說(shuō)，保溫絕熱材料的共同特點(diǎn)是輕質(zhì)、疏松，呈多孔狀或纖維狀，以其內(nèi)部不流動(dòng)的空氣來(lái)阻隔熱的傳導(dǎo)。

保溫絕熱材料的效能的優(yōu)劣主要由材料熱傳導(dǎo)性能的高低（其指標(biāo)為導(dǎo)熱系數(shù)）決定。材料的熱傳導(dǎo)愈難（即導(dǎo)熱系數(shù)愈小），其保溫隔熱性能愈好。
